Mazzè sheds skin
The area now known as Mazzè, nestled in the heart of Canavese near Lake Candia, was once a land shaped by agriculture and small, close-knit communities. Before modern life extended its reach here, the rhythm of the seasons dictated daily existence, and the fields, vineyards, and orchards provided both sustenance and identity. I never looked at Mazzè through nostalgia but through a lens that captures the present with honesty. I wanted to reveal its essence, to document it without embellishment, without artifice. Over the years, I have patiently built her visual archive of Mazzè, working with a medium format camera to capture the village’s subtle transformation.
